Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Acta Matej Bel Universitas, series Environmental Management, is the scientific journal with focussing corresponding to the interdisciplinary character of the Department of Environmental Management of the Faculty of Science of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica.

Authors may publish overviews studies, research studies, case studies, synthesising the research works of the natural sciences, social sciences and reviews of books.

All articles are reviewed by two independent reviewers.

Articles deadlines: 31th March and 30th September of the year

Lenght of the article: Max. 20 pages including tables and figures, format A4.

Languages: The articles should be written in Slovak or English.

Page margins: 2.5 cm (top, bottom, left, right), without page numbering.

Font: For paper writing, authors should use Times New Roman, size 12, single spacing, and the margins aligned (justified alignment).

Format: Full papers have to be submitted only in doc. or docx. formats.

 

Structures of the article

The articles should be structured as follows:

Title (clear and simple) use font Arial, size 14, bold, centred

Author(s): Times New Roman, size 12, italic, bold, centred

Affiliation(s) (titles, addres, including e-mail): Times New Roman, 12, normal, centred on both sides

Abstract: extent of at least 10 lines, Times New Roman, size 10, normal, centred on both sides

Keywords: more than 7 words (phrases), Times New Roman, size 10, normal, centred on both sides

For these headings - Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and discussion, Conclusion: use font Times New Roman, size 12, bold, both sides flush without numbering. For any subtitles, use the same design, except bold option (regular).

Acknowledgement: Times New Roman, size 10, bold title, normal, centred on both sides. An acknowledgement should be given, if any, between the conclusion and references.

Literature: Times New Roman, size 10, normal, centred on both sides
Nomenclature, abbreviations, symbols, and units of measure have to comply with the SI. Scientific names of genera and species have to be in the mission allowance mentioned once in full and in italics with an author classification, respectively. with reference to the source, where the data are presented.
Line spacing in the text is simple. Do not use indentation. Separate paragraphs are 3 pt.

Figures, Graphs, Maps, Schemes, Photos uniformly marked in the text as Fig. 1). The name and the image text are Times New Roman, size 10, normal, centred on both sides). Figures can be submitted in colour.

Sources of literature have to be cited in the bibliography according to the following example

Journal: Surname, First letter of the author’s name/co-author’s name. Year of publication. Title of the paper, Name of the journal, Volume, number, pages (from-to). ISSN.
