HOLOCAUST MEMOIR LITERATURE AFTER 1945 IN SLOVAK AND ITALIAN CULTURAL MILIEUS

The paper is focused on the Holocaust memoir literature published after 1945 in Slovak and Italian cultural milieus and on the interliterary relations between these two literatures. The first part of the paper discusses the specifications of the memoir literature as a genre, presenting definitions by  significant Slovak, Czech and Italian literary scholars. The second and the third parts explain the developement of the topic of the Holocaust within the Slovak and Italian cultural milieus and extends it in the Slovak-Italian interliterary context, pointing out some concrete examples of the contacts between the two literatures.
