Abstract

The prevalence of lifestyle diseases and the contemporary
hypokinetic lifestyle have an impact on the health of female students
at secondary schools. The teenage girls support this negative effect
by their passive presence or absence in sports and physical
education lessons due to several objective and subjective reasons.
Therefore, the partial research was aimed at determining an effect of
fit ball exercise programme on their body posture and at widening
the knowledge concerning the significance and impact of exercise
programmes in sports and physical education lessons. Our sample
experimental and control group consisted of the teenage girls
studying the third grade at one secondary school in the town of L.
Mikuláš. We used a standardized body posture assessment method
and the qualitative and quantitative data were processed by means
of a non-parametric statistical hypothesis test (Wilcoxon signed-rank
test/Wtest). The results and findings significantly (p < 0.01) confirmed
the impact of our exercise programme on the monitored determinant
of the musculoskeletal system in experimental group. Consequently,
we proved the effectiveness of the fit ball exercise programme and
its utilisation in sports and physical education lessons.
