Bearing in mind how physical education classes have been done
in the last two decades, it is evident that a change is needed. This
research will help physical education teachers to become more
familiar with the needs and various profiles of students, and to get
an insight into how students see and experience these classes. The
research was conducted on a sample of 505 pupils, 210 students of
the Elementary School "Čibukovački Partizani" and 295 students of
the Secondary Electro-traffic School "Nikola Tesla", from the territory
of the municipality of Kraljevo. The aim of the research was to
determine and identify the reasons why the students like and do not
like physical education classes. Data analysis revealed that students
like physical education because they feel comfortable at classes and
they see them as useful and content adapted to their abilities and
desires. As the reasons they do not like teaching physical education,
students mentioned carrying teaching equipment and monotonuous
lessons. High school students do not consider teaching physical
education as important but primary school students do. Considering
that part of the survey was related to how the students are
experiencing teachers of physical education, results have shown that
there is no statistically important connection between sex and a
experience of a teacher which is different comparing to the
connection between age and the experience a teacher where high
correlation has been found.ences (U = 376, Z = -2.028, p < 0.043)
with low significance (r = 0.25).
